The introduction of a micromorph continuum in the FEM enables the modelling of materials with complex internal structures, such as foams or porous media. In addition to further degrees of freedom, additional material parameters are also required for modelling.
This work investigates the influence of the introduced constitutive constants on the material behaviour. It is shown that both the stiffness and the stress distribution in the cross-section can be influenced. The effects of the change in material behaviour on the application potential are also discussed.
