In his presentation, Martin Zeller will talk about fixing rope technology in climbing forests and for the erection of structures in combination with trees. Special tree anchors must be compatible with the structure of annual rings and the resulting increasing thickness of the trunk. Long-term observations of various connections and tree species show what growth can be expected. Sections through the wood matrix are also available for the first time, which show the growth behavior around the tree anchor in detail. The formation of high-strength reaction wood can be seen, which is initiated by the connection as a result of higher mechanical stress.
