Sustainable Use of Wood in Construction

Wood has played an important role in the construction industry for centuries and has recently come to be associated with sustainable building. However, this cannot be generalized and depends heavily on how the raw material is sourced, processed, and used. During a tour of the campus and its surrounding forests, Martin Zeller will discuss tree species, sustainable forest management, and the properties of different types of wood, as well as their origins.
